Why a shared office space close to home is a no brainer

The concept of co-working and sharing an office space with other savvy business people, isn’t new. The location of these offices has however started to shift as people look to gain efficiencies and greater work/life balance by staying closer to home.

Based in Catalina Bay, Hobsonville Point, The Hangar services a number of members and businesses from across the northwest suburbs of Auckland. Members who had once considered inner city shared office spaces, have instead opted for The Hangar’s purpose built facility, much closer to home.

Kristél started as a member at The Hangar this year, in a bid to to cut down on her commute from home to school to office.

"The location of The Hangar is truly wonderful. Being so close to home means I have more hours in my week,” she says.

Second to The Hangar’s suburban location, Kristél noted the seaside location, warm, welcoming atmosphere and networking opportunities as being key to her joining as a member.

“Working for a global business with a head office in Melbourne, co-working really makes sense for me. It’s a massive benefit that I get to enjoy lunchtime walks along the coastal boardwalk and an unlimited supply of free coffee!”

Kristél says the flexibility of her membership at The Hangar has allowed her to work at her own convenience without the fear of being locked into a long-term contract or a five day working week. She says this is a big barrier for a lot of business people who don’t necessarily need to be in the office for five days a week and/or don’t want to sign a long term lease for a space that will be underutilised.

“Flexibility is really at the core of why I chose to join The Hangar. Flexibility in my life, commitments and work style”.

Thanks for joining our community, Kristél.
